Arctic Char - raised in pristine salt waters of Iceland, Arctic char has succulent taste and texture, and is suitable for frying, broiling, grilling, as well as to be eaten raw in sushi and sashimi. It is rated "Best Choice" by the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Guide and Environmental Defense's Seafood Selector.

Orata, aka D'orade Royale, is making a repeat appearance here this week due to high demand.

A wonderfully fresh black cod from Alaska, as well as Greek Branzino, are proudly displayed in our showcase alongside of wild salmon and sea trout.

Orata - Mediterranean Sea Bream, staple of French cuisine, where it's known as D'orade. 

Sand dabs - this pan-ready fish is excellent fried.

Lake perch - this fish is a classic Northwestern special, and at $1.99/lb it makes an unbeatable dinner choice. Ask us to score it for you for easy heat penetration. To achieve a crispy skin, spinkle outside of perch with kosher salt.

Buffalo carp - get carp steaks, or ground for fish patties, buffalo carp is an inexpensive and a delicious way to eat fish.

Dover Sole Fillet - fresh fillet of this delicate fish is white and boneless, excellent when coated with lightly beaten egg and a generous sprinkle of salt, and then quickly fried to golden perfection.

Special fish for the week of January 25, 2010:

Mahi Mahi fillet - caught off the coast of Mexico, this delicious fish is boneless, firm, and almost translucent. A wonderful treat!

Branzino, aka Loup De Mer - this Mediterranean sea bass makes for a great grilling item. Its white flesh and firm texture allow for a variety of recipe adaptations.

Ahi Tuna from Fiji for just $10.99/lb: this grilling grade tuna is delectably fresh and richly colored. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor and grill or sautee for about 2 minutes per side. Lip-smacking!

Wild salmon has finally arrived here, and in two kinds: richly red king salmon, and delecate coho salmon. Both fillets are just $16.99/lb.
